the office of Dr. Bruce E. Howell, your Longmont area
Because of ongoing philosophical differences on patient
care, Dr. Howell has decided to no longer practice at his previous dental
office on Main St. (and the location on Hoover St.). If you have any questions
about this, please feel free to call him on his cell phone
He is very happy to announce that he has joined the
Dr. Craig Larson. Drs.
Howell and Larson have known each other for over 10 years and share the same
philosophy on conservative, caring patient care - a pivotal issue for Dr.
Howell to make this change. Dr. Larson's office is the only place where Dr.
Howell practices dentistry.

Smile More Boldly & Eat More
Restorative dentistry is the general term we use to
describe our ability to restore teeth damaged by decay, trauma or other disease
processes such as periodontal disease. Our dental restorations will give you
back your appearance, smile, function and bite, reducing unnecessary hassle in
your life. They can also reduce or eliminate discomfort and dental pain.
Beautiful crowns can repair and strengthen damaged teeth, while fixed bridges
will replace two or more missing teeth in a row. We can also even replace a
full or partial arch of teeth using partials and dentures. Let us help you
discover all the ways that restorative dentistry can help you smile more boldly
and eat more comfortably.
Missing teeth can leave you feeling like you're missing out on
things you used to enjoy such as talking, eating, and even just smiling. This
can leave you feeling embarrassed about the state of your dental health.
Replacing missing teeth is important to your general health and to the health
of your other teeth as well. Not only do you lose chewing ability when a tooth
is lost, but unreplaced teeth can cause other teeth to be lost, tipped or
crowded and create subsequent problems. Dr. Howell can help you replace your
missing teeth with dental implants, giving you a beautiful and fully
Keeping Your Smile
Preventive is the practice of keeping healthy mouth. This
practice helps to avoid gum disease, cavities, plagues, tooth loss. Preventive
dentistry can be practiced in the form of daily brushing and annual dental
cleanings. These practices are designed to ensure that teeth are clean, strong,
and white. Preventive dentistry is the modern way of helping you keep a healthy
mouth. It helps you to keep your teeth, and means you need to have less dental
treatment. The two main causes of tooth loss are decay and gum disease. The
better you prevent or deal with these two problems, the more chance you will
have of keeping your teeth for life.
Being Ready For The
Both Dr. Howell and Dr. Larson are available in the case
of a dental emergency. If you are having a dental emergency after hours or on a
week end, please call the office for Dr. Howell's cell phone information
303-678-7232. With regular dental visits and by following our recommendations
for treatment, rarely do any of of patients experience a dental emergency.
However, certain events can be unforeseen.
You're having a tickling
contest with your loved one and his or her knee accidentally collides with your
teeth, knocking out a dental crown. Or your child falls off the jungle gym and
loses a tooth.
Also known as Gum
Periodontal disease is an infection that attacks the tissue
and bone structure that supports your teeth. The sulcus is a shallow u-shaped
crevice located between the tooth and gums. Gum disease attacks just below the
gum line in the sulcus where the supporting tissue and attachments of the tooth
begin to breakdown. As the supporting tissues are damaged by the infection, the
sulcus begins to develop a pocket. The depth and magnitude of the pocket depend
on the severity and advancement of the periodontal disease.
The Clear Alternative To
As you know, both Dr. Howell & Dr. Larson are Invisalign

improving their patients' smiles as well as the form and function of their
teeth. Invisalign consists of a series of clear aligners that you switch out
about every two weeks. Each aligner is individually manufactured with exact
calculations to gradually shift your teeth into place. Since your Invisalign
system is custom-made for your teeth and your teeth only, you know you'll end
up with a smile that truly fits.
